This appraisal provides an up-to-date overview of renewable alternatives to conventional oil-based plastics, including high-market share polyolefins, polyesters, or polyamides, and polymers derived from ubiquitous carbohydrates and vegetable oils. It also highlights end-of-life solutions.
This appraisal provides an up-to-date overview of the existent renewable, biomass-derived, and more sustainable alternatives to conventional oil-based plastics, namely, high-market share polyolefins, polyesters, or polyamides. Special focus on polymers derived from ubiquitous carbohydrates and vegetable oils is provided. The end-of-life solutions are highlighted.
