Clinical cell-based versus cell-free regenerative endodontics: clarification of concept and term

L. M. Lin et al.

Summary: There is confusion over the concept and term of clinical regenerative endodontics, with commonly used terms being revitalization and revascularization. The aim of regenerative endodontics is to regenerate the pulp-dentine complex, with current protocols mostly falling under the category of cell-free regenerative endodontic therapy. Repair derived from stem cells has been observed following regenerative endodontic treatments, although ideal regeneration through autologous stem cell transplantation (CB-RERT) is still at the clinical trial stage.

Angiogenic hydrogels for dental pulp revascularization

Zain Siddiqui et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the potential of acellular self-assembling peptide hydrogels in promoting tissue revascularization and soft tissue regeneration after endodontic treatment. The hydrogels show promise in guiding the development of neovasculature and tissue deposition, providing a scaffold for soft tissue regeneration in vivo.
