Scalable Fabrication of High-Performance Thin-Shell Oxide Nanoarchitected Materials via Proximity-Field Nanopatterning

Gwangmin Bae et al.

Summary: Nanoarchitected materials, which combine nanomechanical size effects with conventional structural engineering, exhibit unique mechanical properties. The proximity-field nanopatterning (PnP) technique allows high spatial resolution and mass producibility in synthesizing inch-scale films of nanoarchitected materials. This review focuses on the feasibility of using PnP as a scalable fabrication technique for three-dimensional nanostructures and the superiority of resulting thin-shell oxide nanoarchitected materials for specific applications.

Colorimetric Sensors for Toxic and Hazardous Gas Detection: A Review

Sung Hwan Cho et al.

Summary: With the rapid development of industries, the threat of toxic and hazardous substances to human health is increasing, leading to a rising demand for accurate sensors. Colorimetric sensors, which detect substances by measuring absorbance or fluorescence spectra shift, are one of the emerging strategies today. Practical applications of colorimetric sensors require detection of low concentrations of toxic and hazardous substances in gaseous media, along with considerations for low power consumption, selectivity, and sensitivity for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
