Stability analysis of the breathing circle billiard

Xiaoming Zhang et al.

Summary: This work proves the existence of invariant tori in the breathing circle billiard near infinity, which ensures the boundedness of energy when the motion of boundary is regular enough. It also provides new insights into the dynamics of the Fermi-Ulam model under certain conditions.

Improving the performance of a two-sided vibro-impact energy harvester with asymmetric restitution coefficients

Sam Dulin et al.

Summary: In this study, the influence of asymmetric restitution coefficients in a model of a two-sided vibro-impact energy harvester was investigated. New types of periodic solutions were discovered, and the non-monotonic dependency of energy output on restitution coefficients was analyzed.

A capsule-structured triboelectric energy harvester with stick-slip vibration and vibro-impact

Huai Zhao et al.

Summary: Despite significant progress in triboelectric energy harvesting, most research has focused on experiments and/or manufacturing, lacking in-depth theoretical studies on the underlying vibration and its effects on power yield. This paper presents a novel theoretical study on a capsule-structured triboelectric energy harvester, investigating the influences of various factors on its performance and demonstrating the potential for innovative designs and fabrication guidelines.

On the global dynamical properties of a Fermi-Ulam model

Zhenbang Cao et al.

Summary: The model discusses a particle moving freely between two parallel walls and elastically reflecting when hitting the walls. In high energy situations, the global dynamics can be described by an exact area-preserving monotone twist map, and the existence of abundant periodic and quasi-periodic orbits is proven based on the Aubry-Mather theory.

Piezoelectric property degradation and cracking impacts on the lifetime performance of energy harvesters

R. Salazar et al.

Summary: This study investigates the fatigue phenomena of piezoelectric vibrational energy harvesters, specifically the impact of cracks and decreased piezoelectric performance on their properties. The development of an electromechanical model provides valuable insights for understanding how these systems degrade and the importance of factors such as operating frequency range and load resistance.

Modeling and experiment of vibro-impact vibration energy harvester based on a partial interlayer-separated piezoelectric beam

Dong-Xing Cao et al.

Summary: The paper proposes a vibro-impact piezoelectric VEH with a partial interlayer-separated piezoelectric beam to improve voltage output and frequency bandwidth. Numerical and parametric studies confirm that the proposed VEH has a maximum output power about 12 times higher than traditional ones under 0.2g acceleration. The experimental results validate the theoretical solutions and suggest the potential for further optimization of vibration energy harvesters.
