Summary: This study focused on the differences in the responses of largemouth bass to infection and immunization with Aeromonas hydrophila. It was found that infection with A. hydrophila might cause metabolic disorders, higher inflammation, reduced adaptive immune response, and disrupted microbiota homeostasis in largemouth bass. The results suggest that these factors might contribute to the high mortality of largemouth bass caused by A. hydrophila infection.
