Temperature-Dependent Spin Transport and Current-Induced Torques in Superconductor-Ferromagnet Heterostructures

M. Mueller et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the injection of quasiparticle spin currents into a superconductor via spin pumping from an adjacent ferromagnetic metal layer. We observe a suppression of the dampinglike torque generated in the Pt layer by the inverse spin Hall effect below the superconducting transition temperature Tc, along with a large fieldlike current-induced torque.

Ion beam etching dependence of spin-orbit torque memory devices with switching current densities reduced by Hf interlayers

Haowen Ren et al.

Summary: Fabrication of nanoscale three-terminal in-plane spin-orbit torque switching devices with low switching current densities is reported. Optimization of critical parameters such as ion beam etching angle and time was performed to avoid fabrication defects and improve device yield. It was found that the nanopillar aspect ratio affects the device's thermal stability, and inserting Hf interlayers can reduce the required current density for switching and enhance the device's thermal stability.

Large spin-to-charge conversion in ultrathin gold-silicon multilayers

Mohammed Salah El Hadri et al.

Summary: The investigation demonstrates that in ultrathin Au/Si multilayers, there is an enhanced effective spin-charge conversion efficiency, particularly in thinner individual Au layers, reaching exceedingly large values. The findings reveal the coexistence of interfacial spin-to-charge conversion effect and bulk spin Hall effect in ultrathin Au, suggesting the key role of intrinsic spin Hall effect enhancement and strong interfacial spin-orbit coupling-related effect in large spin-to-charge conversion.
