Detection of mRNA Expression and Copy Number Variations Within the Goat FecB Gene Associated With Litter Size

Early-life lead exposure induces long-term toxicity in the central nervous system: From zebrafish larvae to juveniles and adults

Summary: Lead-induced neurotoxicity has been extensively studied, but the connection between early-life lead exposure and abnormal neurobehavior in juveniles and adults is still unclear. Using a zebrafish model, this study found that early-life exposure to lead caused neurologic damage and defective neurobehavior, with affected vitality and social behavior in juvenile and adult fish. The modulation of key genes and neuronal density changes may contribute to the observed neurobehavioral disorders.

Summary: This study identified a relationship between the polymorphisms of several genes in Liaoning cashmere goats and litter size and cashmere performance. Particularly, specific genotypes at the FecB C94T and ESR C463T loci were associated with higher litter numbers in goats. These findings suggest a significant correlation between FecB and ESR genes and the high fecundity of Liaoning cashmere goats.

Novel indel variations of the sheep FecB gene and their effects on litter size

Summary: Research shows that various indels in the FecB gene are associated with sheep litter size, with the 10-bp indel having a significant correlation and the 12-bp indel being linked to the 17-bp indel. The DD genotype is harmful for fecundity. These findings offer new insights into accelerating molecular breeding in sheep.
