This paper introduces a methodology to prioritize repair interventions based on the type of moisture present on a building's facade, aiming to safeguard built heritage. The development involves the use of infrared thermography for qualification and quantification of moisture, followed by prioritization matrix to obtain repair strategies.
Research concerning the facade of a building involves a comprehensive review of the impermeability of building materials, in order to determine their maintenance and repair techniques. Usually, moisture generates different levels of deterioration and decreases the life cycle of buildings, however, quantifying the presence of moisture is an arduous procedure. This paper presents the development of a methodology to prioritize repair interventions according to the type of moisture present on the facade of the building. Firstly, through the use of infrared thermography, the qualification and quantification of the moisture present on the facades of the buildings is carried out, and, after that, using the prioritization matrix, it is possible to obtain strategies to safeguard the built heritage. The solution presented in this paper contributes to the evolution of a simplified procedure that makes it possible to prioritize the intervention considering the causes of the damages.
