UH model for granular soils considering low confining pressure

YangPing Yao et al.

Summary: This study systematically analyzes the mechanical behaviors of granular soils under low confining pressure by introducing compressive hardening parameter and interlocking strength parameter, and establishes a unified hardening model for granular soils. Experimental data show that the UH-L model is capable of uniformly describing the stress-strain relations and strength of granular soils under low confining pressure.

Parameters controlling cyclic behaviour of cement-treated sand

Lucas Festugato et al.

Summary: This study focused on examining the performance of cement-treated sand through RM and N-f tests. The use of eta/C-iv for assessing mixtures cyclic response was investigated for the first time. Results indicated that the eta/C-iv can predict the cyclic behavior of cement-treated sand under different Portland cement contents and dry densities.

Influences of buried depth and grain size distribution on seepage erosion in granular soils around tunnel by coupled CFD-DEM approach

Jian-Gu Qian et al.

Summary: The study conducted five numerical tests of seepage erosion in granular soils around tunnels using the CFD-DEM coupling method, investigating the influences of buried depth and grain size distribution on seepage erosion. The results showed that the number of fines loss, eroded zone, and ground settlement increase with buried depth and mean particle size ratio.
