Development and Validation of a Modified Full Age Spectrum Creatinine-Based Equation to Estimate Glomerular Filtration Rate A Cross-sectional Analysis of Pooled Data

Hans Pottel et al.

Summary: A new SCr-based equation, combining design features of the FAS and CKD-EPI equations, has been developed and validated to estimate glomerular filtration rate more accurately, especially during the transition from adolescence to adulthood. The equation shows low bias and fewer estimation errors across the full age spectrum.

Analysis of chronic kidney disease among national hospitalization data with 14 million children

Xinmiao Shi et al.

Summary: This study analyzed data on hospitalized pediatric patients with CKD in China from 2013 to 2017. A total of 278,231 pediatric inpatients were identified with CKD, accounting for 1.95% of the total pediatric inpatient population. The primary causes of CKD were secondary nephrosis, CAKUT, glomerular diseases, and cystic kidney disease. IgA was the most common renal pathology finding. The study provides important data for policy making, registry implementation, and management of CKD in China.
