Doxorubicin Hydrochloride-Loaded Nonionic Surfactant Vesicles to Treat Metastatic and Non-Metastatic Breast Cancer

Martina Di Francesco et al.

Summary: This study developed nonionic surfactant vesicles (NSVs) loaded with doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) to improve therapeutic efficacy and reduce side effects. NSVs showed stable sustained drug release, better internalization and anticancer effect on breast cancer cells. The data suggested that DOX-loaded NSVs could be a promising nanocarrier for the potential treatment of metastatic breast cancer.

Exploring the Interactions of Ionic Liquids with Bio-Organic Amphiphiles Using Computational Approaches

Rachel E. Daso et al.

Summary: Bio-organic amphiphiles effectively impart unique physicochemical properties to ionic liquids, forming versatile hybrid composites. Computational methods were utilized to study the formation and properties of hybrids formed by mixing three newly designed bio-organic amphiphiles with 14 ionic liquids, leading to the identification of optimal mixtures. Molecular dynamics simulations showed that cholinium-based ILs interacted most favorably with the amphiphiles through various interactions.

Synthesis, surface activity, self-aggregation and cytotoxicity of ruthenium(II) and Oxovanadium(IV) based metallo-surfactants

Roheena Jan et al.

Summary: The synthesis, surface activity, self-aggregation, and cytotoxicity of a series of amphiphilic Ruthenium(II) and Oxovanadium (IV) metal complexes were investigated. These metal complexes showed sensitivity to their overall geometry, hydrophobicity, and counter ion polarizability, leading to significant inhibition of human cervix carcinoma cell proliferation. The cytotoxicity of the amphiphilic complexes was notably effective with an IC50 value of 57 uM.
