Effects of phosphogypsum and water treatment residual application on key chemical and biological properties of clay soil and maize yield

Esawy Mahmoud et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that the addition of phosphogypsum (PG) and water treatment residual (WTR) could significantly increase soil microbial activity, CO(2) evolution, and dehydrogenase activity (DHA). Particularly, applying 10 t ha(-1) of PG with nitrogen fertilizer showed positive effects on maize yield and yield components.

Minimizing the Adversely Impacts of Water Deficit and Soil Salinity on Maize Growth and Productivity in Response to the Application of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria and Silica Nanoparticles

Emad M. Hafez et al.

Summary: The application of PGPR in soil can alleviate the detrimental effects of water scarcity and improve maize productivity. Foliar spraying of SiNP improves physiological traits of maize plants under water deficit. The combined treatment of SiNP with PGPR further enhances maize productivity and nutrient uptake.

Interactive Impacts of Beneficial Microbes and Si-Zn Nanocomposite on Growth and Productivity of Soybean Subjected to Water Deficit under Salt-Affected Soil Conditions

Hany S. Osman et al.

Summary: The study found that single application of plant growth-promoting microbes or nanoparticles can effectively enhance soybean growth and yield while reducing damage caused by water stress and soil salinity. The combined application of both can minimize these adverse effects, significantly improving soybean yield and quality.
