Genome-wide association study for adult plant resistance to yellow rust in spring bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Summary: In this study, GWAS was used to identify 23 markers associated with adult plant resistance to yellow rust in bread wheat genotypes. These markers were found on chromosomes 2A, 2B, 2D, and 7B, with three markers located within wheat functional genes related to disease resistance. Furthermore, candidate genes YrR61 and Yr17 were identified as linked to a marker on chromosome 2A, while markers on chromosomes 7B and 2D represent novel resistance loci for Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici that need further confirmation.
