Endophytic bacteria promote the quality of Lyophyllum decastes by improving non-volatile taste components of mycelia

Man Xu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of endophytic bacterial metabolites on the quality of Lyophyllum decastes mycelia, finding that these metabolites significantly increased various nutrients in the mycelia, which suggests that endophytic bacteria could enhance the quality of Lyophyllum decastes by improving the non-volatile taste components of the mycelia.

Plant-Growth Endophytic Bacteria Improve Nutrient Use Efficiency and Modulate Foliar N-Metabolites in Sugarcane Seedling

Matheus Aparecido Pereira Cipriano et al.

Summary: Beneficial plant-microbe interactions can enhance plant growth by improving biomass production, plant nutritional status, and nutrient use efficiency. The endophytic bacterial strains altered foliar free amino acid and polyamine profiles, mainly affecting the relative concentrations of specific compounds. Transcription of key genes related to nutrient uptake was not significantly influenced by the endophytic strains, indicating that complex interactions may be involved in promoting plant growth.

Laser light as a promising approach to improve the nutritional value, antioxidant capacity and anti-inflammatory activity of flavonoid-rich buckwheat sprouts

Mohammed S. Almuhayawi et al.

Summary: Research has shown that using He-Ne laser (632 nm, 5 mW) treatment on buckwheat sprouts can significantly increase the levels of various health-promoting compounds. Laser treatment not only enhances antioxidant capacity and anti-inflammatory activities, but also improves the content of minerals, metabolites, and enzymes in the sprouts.

Bioactive Potential of Several Actinobacteria Isolated from Microbiologically Barely Explored Desert Habitat, Saudi Arabia

Mohammed S. Almuhayawi et al.

Summary: Bioactive natural products, particularly from actinomycetes, have been explored for their potential therapeutic uses. This study focused on the phytochemical content and biological activities of actinobacteria isolates from Al-Jouf Desert, Saudi Arabia. These isolates showed promising antioxidant and anticancer activities, with some extracts inhibiting leukemia cell growth by reducing cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase activities. Further research on active molecules from these strains may lead to the development of new drugs against human diseases such as blood cancer.
