Optimal treatments for TAFRO syndrome: a retrospective surveillance study in Japan

Shino Fujimoto et al.

Summary: TAFRO syndrome is a rare systemic inflammatory disorder with no established optimal treatment strategy yet. Corticosteroids are the first-line treatment, while tocilizumab or cyclosporine A can be used as second-line treatments, with rituximab showing longer time to next treatment or death compared to tocilizumab. Subsequent salvage therapies were effective in rescuing patients who failed second-line treatments, emphasizing the need for further studies to establish optimal treatment strategies.
