CD200:CD200R Interactions and Their Importance in Immunoregulation

Summary: The molecule CD200, originally described as an immunomodulatory agent, has garnered interest for its potential role as a marker for cancer progression, in addition to its known roles in inflammation and transplant rejection. Research has also uncovered new insights into the receptors for CD200 (CD200R) and the development of novel agonists/antagonists for this interaction. Ongoing controversies exist regarding the importance of CD200 as a ligand for CD200Rs, but progress has been made in understanding the structural constraints of CD200-CD200R interactions.
