Influence of the flooded time on the performance of a tidal flow constructed wetland treating urban stream water

Jonar Johannes Roth et al.

Summary: An evaluation was conducted on the efficiency of a vertical subsuperficial tidal flow constructed wetland in removing carbonaceous, nitrogenous, and phosphorous matter from urban stream water. The study showed that the optimal flooded time helped in the removal of COD and TN, while longer flooded time was necessary for effective TP removal.

Simultaneous removal of ibuprofen, organic material, and nutrients from domestic wastewater through a pilot-scale vertical sub-surface flow constructed wetland with aeration system

Osama Abrahiem Al Falahi et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated the effectiveness of using a pilot-scale vertical subsurface flow constructed wetland planted with Scirpus grossus in removing pharmaceutical compounds from domestic wastewater. Results showed that the wetland system with aeration successfully removed ibuprofen, COD, and nutrients, meeting the effluent standards set by the Malaysian Government.
