Leclercia adecarboxylata Bacteremia without a Focus in a Non-Immunosuppressed Patient

Summary: This case describes a non-immunosuppressed 74-year-old woman with multiple comorbidities who developed L. adecarboxylata bacteremia associated with acute decompensated heart failure and pneumonia. Treatment with meropenem successfully controlled the infection, but she subsequently developed severe Clostridium difficile infection and died despite treatment attempts. This highlights the importance of understanding the pathogenesis, risk factors, and resistance patterns of L. adecarboxylata in immunocompetent individuals.
