Outcomes in patients with acute myocardial infarction and new atrial fibrillation: a nationwide analysis

Laurent Fauchier et al.

Summary: In patients with acute myocardial infarction, a history of atrial fibrillation or new onset atrial fibrillation during the early phase may be associated with a worse prognosis. New atrial fibrillation was found to be independently associated with higher risks of death and ischemic stroke compared to patients with no atrial fibrillation or previously known atrial fibrillation.

Feasibility and Prognostic Value of Vasodilator Stress Perfusion CMR in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation

Theo Pezel et al.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the feasibility and prognostic value of vasodilator stress perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). The presence of ischemia or late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) was found to be associated with the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular event(s) (MACE) in AF patients, and was confirmed as independent predictors of MACE in multivariate analysis. Stress perfusion CMR is feasible and has good discriminative prognostic value to predict the occurrence of MACE in patients with AF.
