Advanced high temperature heat pump configurations using low GWP refrigerants for industrial waste heat recovery: A comprehensive study

Carlos Mateu-Royo et al.

Summary: This study compares different high temperature heat pump (HTHP) cycle configurations and low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, showing that two-stage cascade is suitable for high temperature lifts while single-stage cycles with economizer and parallel compression are suitable for low temperature lifts.

A non-structural fuzzy decision method developed for organic Rankine cycles used in liquid-dominated geothermal fields of medium/high temperature

Na Zhang et al.

Summary: A three-level nonstructural fuzzy decision algorithm is developed for the evaluation of a geo-fluid driven trans-critical ORC system. Results show that R142b performs best for both medium and high temperature geothermal reservoirs in terms of performance evaluation criteria.

Performance analysis and multi-objective optimization of the high-temperature cascade heat pump system

Zhangxiang Wu et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a high-temperature cascade heat pump system with high compression ratio, which shows good stability and feasibility under various operating conditions. After economic and thermodynamic performance analysis, a multi-objective optimization method was developed to achieve the optimal heating capacity and annual net profit. The optimized system has a heating capacity of 498.9 kW and a payback period of 3.9 years at the optimal temperatures.

Experimental investigations and multi-objective optimization of an air-source absorption heat pump for residential district heating

Zhangxiang Wu et al.

Summary: The novel air-source absorption heat pump (ASAHP) for district heating proposed in this paper can operate efficiently at low ambient temperatures and recover waste heat effectively. With the falling film form in the generator and absorber, the system reduces mass flow rate and electricity consumption, making it suitable for cold regions and providing efficient heating capacity. Multiple-objective optimization is conducted using the TOPSIS decision-making method and NSGA-II technology to achieve optimal operating conditions.
