Glycoproteoform Profiles of Individual Patients' Plasma Alpha-1-Antichymotrypsin are Unique and Extensively Remodeled Following a Septic Episode

Tomislav Caval et al.

Summary: The relationship between acute-phase proteins and sepsis may be related to the occurrence and severity of inflammatory responses. Monitoring the changes in plasma proteome and glycoproteoform profiles of septic patients can reflect the physiological state of the patients, with each patient exhibiting unique responses and features. Importantly, the changes induced by sepsis in glycoproteoform profiles of AACT did not readily subside after discharge from ICU.

Personalized Profiling Reveals Donor- and Lactation-Specific Trends in the Human Milk Proteome and Peptidome

Jing Zhu et al.

Summary: Human milk is a personalized form of nutrition for infants, with proteins and peptides playing a crucial role in growth and immune defense. This study longitudinally profiled over 1300 milk proteins and 2000 endogenous milk peptides in two individual donors, revealing gradual changes over 16 weeks of lactation, as well as a unique anomaly in one donor at week 6 possibly related to inflammation or infection.

Interactive Tree Of Life (iTOL) v5: an online tool for phylogenetic tree display and annotation

Ivica Letunic et al.

Summary: The Interactive Tree Of Life is an online tool for displaying, manipulating, and annotating phylogenetic and other trees. The latest version 5 introduces a new tree display engine and several new features, such as a new dataset type and expanded annotation options. Users can now also manually annotate trees by hand, providing more flexibility and control.

Human Milk from Previously COVID-19-Infected Mothers: The Effect of Pasteurization on Specific Antibodies and Neutralization Capacity

Britt J. van Keulen et al.

Summary: The study found that human milk from mothers who recovered from COVID-19 contains SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies, which retained neutralization capacity after pasteurization using High Pressure Pasteurization (HPP). This suggests a safe and effective immunization strategy post-HPP.
