Morphological damage in Sertoli, myoid and interstitial cells in a mouse model of mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I)

Cinthia Castro do Nascimento et al.

Summary: Mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I) is a lysosomal storage disease caused by a mutation in the IDUA gene, leading to the accumulation of GAGs in cells and affecting cell and tissue physiology. Studies have shown damage in the testes of MPS I mice, with signs of cell injury and impaired substrate degradation pathways. Idua plays a critical role in maintaining testicular structure, potentially impacting spermatogenesis.
