This paper employs the STAMP model to analyze coal mine accidents and finds that it can lead to more comprehensive conclusions compared to traditional models. Apart from equipment defects and illegal operations by workers, the fundamental reason behind accidents lies in the failure of feedback loops in the layered control structure of the system.
In response to the increasingly complex causes of coal mine accidents, a system analysis method - Systems Theoretic Accident Model and Processes (STAMP) is used in the analysis of major accidents in coal mines. Based on a comparative analysis of multiple causation models, this paper will use STAMP model to control coal mine safety system from many aspects of coal mine accident cause level. Finally, the causes of such accidents are summarized and compared with the existing analytical conclusions. The results demonstrate that using the STAMP model to analyse major accidents in coal mines can lead to more comprehensive conclusions than that of traditional causal models. In addition to equipment defects and illegal operations by workers, the fundamental reason underlying accidents is that the elimination or delay of the feedback loop between the layers in the layered control structure of the system after changes occur in the system's external environment.
