Response of the microbial community to phosphate-solubilizing bacterial inoculants on Ulmus chenmoui Cheng in Eastern China

Juan Song et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of introducing indigenous phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) on the growth of Ulmus chenmoui and the soil microbial community. Results showed that the addition of PSB altered the soil bacterial community structure, promoting the growth of Ulmus chenmoui.

Metagenomic Analysis of Bacterial Communities in Agricultural Soils from Vietnam with Special Attention to Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria

Anna Hegyi et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the diversity and relative abundance of bacterial phyla and genera in agricultural soil samples from Vietnam, showing the influence of soil physico-chemical properties on the abundance of various bacterial taxa potentially involved in phosphate solubilization. Total nitrogen positively correlated with Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, Firmicutes and Planctomycetes, indicating a clear relationship between soil nutrient content and bacterial abundance.

Rethinking Crop Nutrition in Times of Modern Microbiology: Innovative Biofertilizer Technologies

Eduardo K. Mitter et al.

Summary: Global population growth threatens food security due to ecosystem degradation, climate change, soil erosion, and biodiversity loss. Biofertilizers, living microbes that enhance plant nutrition, have the potential to reduce dependency on agrochemicals. Despite their ability to improve soil fertility, biofertilizers have not yet widely replaced conventional chemical fertilizers in commercial agriculture. Translating knowledge on microbiome functions and addressing key factors limiting successful field applications are essential to capitalize on plant nutrition in agroecosystems.
