Long-term immunogenicity after measles vaccine vs. wild infection: an Italian retrospective cohort study

Francesco Paolo Bianchi et al.

Summary: The study found that individuals vaccinated for measles are more likely to lose protective antibodies in the years following vaccination compared to those who had a natural infection. Only 92% of individuals seroconverted after receiving one or two doses of the vaccine. This finding should be considered in the early phase of measles elimination efforts.
