Exosomes derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells protect the injured spinal cord by inhibiting pericyte pyroptosis

Yan Zhou et al.

Summary: This study found that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes can protect pericytes by inhibiting pyroptosis and improving blood-spinal cord barrier integrity, promoting the survival of neurons and the extension of nerve fibers, and ultimately improving motor function in rats with spinal cord injury.

LncRNA-Meg3 promotes Nlrp3-mediated microglial inflammation by targeting miR-7a-5p

Jiao Meng et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that Meg3 regulates microglia inflammation by targeting the miR-7a-5p/Nlrp3 pathway. The findings suggest that the inflammatory response induced by Meg3 may be achieved through the regulation of miR-7a-5p expression and Nlrp3 protein expression.

Bibliometric Analysis of the Inflammasome and Pyroptosis in Brain

Yuhua Chen et al.

Summary: This study visually analyzed the research hotspots of inflammasome/pyroptosis related to the brain over the past two decades using bibliometrics from the Web of Science Core database. It was found that publications regarding inflammasome and pyroptosis in the brain have been increasing gradually since 2005, with expectations of further increase in 2020. Investigating mitochondrial molecules involved in the complex crosstalk of pyroptosis and regulated cell deaths in brain glial cells is recommended to facilitate the development of effective therapeutic strategies targeting inflammasome/pyroptosis.

Shun Xu et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that CD73 inhibits microglial pyroptosis by suppressing the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome complexes and reducing GSDMD maturation. CD73 regulates GSDMD expression at the transcriptional level through Foxo1, and forms a positive feedback loop with HIF-1 alpha.
