Summary: This study characterized the differences in chemical composition between white and violet flower buds of Magnolia. The white flower buds contained large amounts of monoterpene hydrocarbons, phenolic acids, and aromatic amino acids, while the violet flower buds had higher levels of stress-related metabolites. The results contribute to our understanding of the different metabolic pathways in these two types of flower buds.

In vitro cultivation of tansy (Tanacetum vulgare L.): a tool for the production of potent pharmaceutical agents

Summary: In this study, in vitro culture of tansy was established without the need for plant growth regulators, with a focus on the secretion-rich glandular trichomes and the potent 3,5-O-DCQA compound. Biotechnological interventions on secondary metabolite production from trichomes could enhance the production of important tansy metabolites for potential pharmaceutical applications. Further investigation will be directed towards exploring the pharmaceutical potential of tansy in vitro obtained metabolites.
