Identification of potential QTLs and genes associated with seed composition traits in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) using GWAS and RNA-Seq analysis

Hui Zhang et al.

Summary: A genome-wide association study identified 178 significant QTLs associated with seed composition traits in cultivated peanuts, providing a genetic basis for understanding oil quality and protein synthesis. RNA-Seq analysis revealed 282 differentially expressed genes, with 16 candidate genes potentially involved in seed fatty acid metabolism and protein synthesis.

Genetic Diversity and Genome-Wide Association Study of Seed Aspect Ratio Using a High-Density SNP Array in Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.)

Kunyan Zou et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the genetic diversity of 384 peanut germplasms using an Axiom_Arachis array with 58K SNPs, and identified five SNPs significantly associated with seed aspect ratio on chromosomes Aradu.A09, Aradu.A10, Araip.B08, and Araip.B09. The most significantly associated marker was AX-177640219 on chromosome Araip.B08. Additionally, the study found that the PEPC gene may have a strong causal effect on seed aspect ratio.

Genome-Wide Association Study for Ultraviolet-B Resistance in Soybean (Glycine max L.)

Taeklim Lee et al.

Summary: The study investigated the UV-B resistance in 688 soybean germplasms and identified genes associated with UV-B resistance through GWAS. It was found that UV-B resistance is a quantitative trait controlled by multiple genes, with cryptochrome 1 gene potentially playing a crucial role in UV-B resistance.
