Genistein nanoformulation promotes selective apoptosis in oral squamous cell carcinoma through repression of 3PK-EZH2 signalling pathway

Atul Dev et al.

Summary: In this study, genistein nanoformulation was synthesized and shown to selectively induce apoptosis in oral squamous cell carcinoma by increasing reactive oxygen species and regulating epigenetic control-related proteins. Improved biodistribution and biocompatibility of the formulation were observed in vivo, suggesting potential therapeutic implications in the treatment of OSCC.

Assessment of Genotoxic potential of Annonacin and Annona muricata L. extracts on human breast cancer (MCF-7) cells

Aditi Venkatesh Naik et al.

Summary: The use of plants, like Annona muricata, for cancer treatment is common globally. This study aimed to investigate the genotoxic effects of leaf and pulp extracts compared to the compound Annonacin on breast cancer cells. Results showed that leaf extracts exhibited higher genotoxic potential than pulp extracts but were less effective than Annonacin. Further research on safety evaluation and genotoxicity endpoints is needed.
