Effects of different catalysts on light-off temperature of volatile organic components in the rotary diesel particulate filter during the regeneration

E. Jiaqiang et al.

Summary: In this study, the effects of different mass fractions of Pd and Pt catalysts and different test conditions on the light-off temperature in the regeneration process of a rotary diesel particulate filter were investigated using the CHEMKIN software. The results showed that Pd catalyst can significantly decrease the light-off temperature for volatile organic components and Pd-based catalysts had a higher effect on CH4 combustion compared to Pt-based catalysts. Pt-based catalysts with a 2.0% mass fraction exhibited the best light-off performance among all catalysts, with a conversion rate reaching 100% at 698 K. Additionally, Pd dispersion of around 70% resulted in the lowest light-off temperature.
