Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the pancreas: diagnostic performance of the 2017 international consensus guidelines using CT and MRI

Ji Hye Min et al.

Summary: The high-risk features for malignant IPMN showed comparable diagnostic accuracy between CT and MRI, with MRI being superior in detecting mural nodules. However, both modalities had similar performance in distinguishing malignant from benign IPMNs.

The diagnostic role of CT, MRI/MRCP, PET/CT, EUS and DWI in the differentiation of benign and malignant IPMN: A meta-analysis

Hongjie Liu et al.

Summary: This study assessed the diagnostic properties of CT, MRI/MRCP, PET/CT, EUS, and DWI in differentiating benign and malignant IPMN. Results showed that PET/CT had the highest AUC, supporting the interchangeable use of MRI/MRCP and PET/CT as first-line examinations. Additionally, DWI, EUS, and CT each have their advantages and support MRI/MRCP.

Summary: The molecular analysis of KRAS and GNAS mutations in EUS-acquired pancreatic cyst fluid shows high sensitivity and specificity, significantly improving diagnostic accuracy for IPMNs and MCLs compared to using CEA alone.

Summary: The utility of MRCP-derived texture features and the combination of texture analysis with MR features are effective in predicting the malignant potential of IPMNs, improving diagnostic performance.
