β-Cyclodextrin-Polyacrylamide Hydrogel for Removal of Organic Micropollutants from Water

Xia Song et al.

Summary: The study modified beta-cyclodextrin into beta-CD-PAAm hydrogel, which exhibited larger pore size and higher swelling ratio, effectively adsorbing different dyes and pollutants. Thermodynamic studies showed that the beta-CD-PAAm gel was able to adsorb different dyes and pollutants at various concentrations, while the control PAAm gel had very low adsorption capacity.

Nonviral DNA Delivery System with Supramolecular PEGylation Formed by Host-Guest Pseudo-Block Copolymers

Zhongxing Zhang et al.

Summary: A cationic supramolecular system based on host-guest pseudoblock copolymers was developed for nonviral DNA delivery, integrating superior DNA condensing ability, polyplex-stabilizing ability, and biocompatibility. The system exhibited lower cytotoxicity and enhanced DNA transfection efficiency after supramolecular PEGylation. Modulation of DNA transfection ability was easily achieved by changing the ratio between the guest and host or by using different hosts with varied PDMAEMA arm lengths.
