Increased tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte density is associated with favorable outcomes in a comparative study of canine histiocytic sarcoma

Jennifer A. Lenz et al.

Summary: Research suggests that canine histiocytic sarcoma (HS) shares immunogenic potential with the human disease, and increased T cell infiltration is positively associated with favorable outcomes following treatment.

A Review of Clinical Outcomes of CAR T-Cell Therapies for B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Massimo Martino et al.

Summary: CAR-T therapy shows high efficacy and safety in R/R B-ALL patients, but relapse remains a challenge. Combining CAR-T treatment with Allo-SCT could improve long-term outcomes. In addition to CD19, other targets and simplified manufacturing processes are being explored for broader clinical applicability.

Canine osteosarcoma checkpoint expression correlates with metastasis and T-cell infiltrate

Matthew J. Cascio et al.

Summary: The expression of PD-L1, HVEM, and B7H3 in osteosarcoma was found to be associated with metastatic lesions and correlated with each other. The presence of these ligands on osteosarcoma cells positively correlated with peritumoral T cell infiltration. Osteosarcoma showed significant resistance to effector T cells but multiple agents targeting checkpoints may have immune modulating benefits in this context.

Summary: A study on canine oral melanoma found that the distribution pattern of TILs is associated with the frequency of CD8(+) T lymphocytes and CD4(+)/CD25(+)/FoxP3(+) Tregs. Patients with higher survival rates had higher TIL scores, a brisk or nonbrisk TIL pattern, and increased frequency of CD8(+) T lymphocytes infiltrating the tumor.
