Researchers have developed a microscale bioprinting process using light-activated decellularized extracellular matrix-based bioinks. This bioprinting process allows for the production of size-controllable spheroidal and tubular tissue constructs at the microscale without the need for cumbersome post-processing steps. The bioprinted microtissues can support cellular activities and tissue maturation with tissue-specific physiological significance.
Microscale Bioprinting Process Jinah Jang and colleagues develop a microscale bioprinting process using light-activated decellularized extracellular matrix-based bioinks in article number 2100947. The bioprinting process enables the fabrication of size-controllable spheroidal and tubular tissue constructs at the microscale without cumbersome steps, such as washing, solution replacement, and post-crosslinking. The bioprinted microtissues can support cellular activities and tissue maturation with tissue-specific physiological significance.
