Three-phase electric power driven electoluminescent devices

Junpeng Ji et al.

Summary: Power supply networks around the world rely heavily on three-phase electrical systems, but many electrically driven devices now use direct current or single-phase alternating current, making it more complex to utilize three-phase power. This study introduces a novel concept of driving light-emitting components with three-phase electric power, enabling pixel units, interactive displays, and driving organic light-emitting devices with RGB pixels.

Alternating-Current-Driven Color-Tunable Organic Light-Emitting Triodes

Changbin Zhao et al.

Summary: Researchers have reported an alternating-current-driven organic light-emitting triode with a simple yet versatile architecture that allows precise control over the color and intensity of light emission. The devices are driven and regulated by a three-phase AC supply, enabling control over the emission from yellow to blue regions through interdigitated electrodes and phase differences. This configuration offers a simplistic approach for color-tunable light emission and shows great potential for full-color displays and solid-state lighting.

Recent advances in flexible alternating current electroluminescent devices

Xin Zhang et al.

Summary: ACEL materials have found wide applications in the field of flexible light-emitting devices due to their low cost and easy integration with flexible electrodes and polymer substrates. ACEL devices utilizing phosphor-elastomer composite as the emissive layer are inherently stretchable/deformable, in contrast to direct current light-emitting diodes built on rigid panels. Recent advances in the design and preparation of various flexible-panel ACEL devices are summarized, along with emerging applications enabled by these flexible ACEL devices.

Bifacial Color-Tunable Electroluminescent Devices

Tobias Gahlmann et al.

Summary: The study introduces a novel three-terminal device architecture for color tunability of ACEL devices. By independently operating two ACEL devices (e.g., orange and blue), color tunability is achieved, and the use of silver nanowire networks in the electrodes endows the device with bifacial emission capability. The detailed analysis of optical losses in single and tandem ACEL devices suggests novel applications in signage and lighting.

White-emission from ZnS:Eu incorporated in AC-driven electroluminescent devices via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis

Martha Judith Rivera-Medina et al.

Summary: In this work, white-emitting alternating current thin film electroluminescent (w-ACTFEL) devices using europium-doped zinc sulfide (ZnS:Eu) and zirconium oxide (ZrO2) as the emissive and dielectric layers were demonstrated. The colorimetric characteristics of the devices were investigated for different voltage amplitudes, showing small changes in the visual characteristics of the EL emission with varying voltage amplitudes.
