The Multifaced Actions of Curcumin in Pregnancy Outcome

Giovanni Tossetta et al.

Summary: Curcumin, a polyphenolic substance found in the rhizomes of Curcuma longa L, has various beneficial effects including anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant properties. Studies have shown its potential use in managing pregnancy complications such as Preeclampsia, Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, and PreTerm Birth.

Triclosan affects the expression of nitric oxide synthases (NOSs), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR?), and nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-?B) in mouse neocortical neurons in vitro

Konrad A. Szychowski et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effects of TCS on the expression of mouse neuronal genes and investigate its relationship with PPAR?, NF-?B, and NOS isoforms. The results showed that TCS alters the expression of multiple genes in neurons and may have effects possibly caused by high levels of ROS. Additionally, both ?NF and ?NF were found to modulate the effects of TCS in primary cultures of mouse cortical neurons.
