The Feasibility of Cardiophrenic Lymphnode Assessment and Removal in Patients Requiring Diaphragmatic Resection During Interval Debulking Surgery for Ovarian Cancer

Ciro Pinelli et al.

Summary: This retrospective analysis examined Stage IV ovarian cancer patients who underwent NACT followed by IDS with CPLNs assessment and/or resection. The study found that intraoperative assessment of CPLNs during IDS was less accurate compared to PDS studies, but CPLNs removal was still safe and contributed to achieving complete resection.

Clinical significance of CT detected enlarged cardiophrenic nodes in ovarian cancer patients

Indu Oommen et al.

Summary: Enlarged cardiophrenic lymph nodes seen on staging CT in ovarian cancer patients are significantly associated with higher volume of peritoneal, non-regional nodal and extraperitoneal disease, as well as lower recurrence free survival, indicating their clinical significance in this patient population.

Effects of pretreatment radiological and pathological lymph node statuses on prognosis in patients with ovarian cancer who underwent interval debulking surgery with lymphadenectomy following neoadjuvant chemotherapy

Hiroaki Komatsu et al.

Summary: Radiological lymph node status may not affect survival in ovarian cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interval debulking surgery, whereas pathological lymph node metastasis significantly shortens both progression-free survival and overall survival.

Global cancer statistics 2020: GLOBOCAN estimates of incidence and mortality worldwide for 36 cancers in 185 countries

Hyuna Sung et al.

Summary: The global cancer burden in 2020 saw an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Female breast cancer surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer, while lung cancer remained the leading cause of cancer death. These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.
