Changes in Alcohol Use During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Impact of the Lockdown Conditions and Mental Health Factors

Mood and Changes in Alcohol Consumption in Young Adults during COVID-19 Lockdown: A Model Explaining Associations with Perceived Immune Fitness and Experiencing COVID-19 Symptoms

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of the 2019 Coronavirus lockdown on mood, stress, alcohol consumption, and perceived immune fitness in a Dutch sample. Results showed that the first lockdown was associated with poorer mood and increased stress levels, and younger participants experienced a significant decrease in alcohol consumption. Additionally, poorer perceived immune fitness was correlated with increased COVID-19 symptoms severity.

Alcohol Consumption Patterns during COVID-19 Lockdown and Their Relationship with Perceived Immune Fitness and Reported COVID-19 Symptoms

Summary: This study investigated the impact of alcohol consumption changes during lockdown on mood, stress levels, perceived immune fitness, and COVID-19 symptoms. Results showed that increased and reduced alcohol consumption during lockdown were associated with poorer mood and higher stress levels. Increased alcohol consumption was also linked to decreased perceived immune fitness and high presence and severity of COVID-19 symptoms.

Correlation between academic self-efficacy and burnout originating from distance learning among nursing students in Indonesia during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between academic self-efficacy and burnout in first-year nursing students participating in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results showed that most students had a moderate level of academic self-efficacy, but 46.4% experienced severe burnout, which was closely related to exhaustion. Effective interventions to improve academic self-efficacy may help reduce burnout levels and enhance students' confidence in the challenging environment of distance learning.

Online-Learning due to COVID-19 Improved Mental Health Among Medical Students

Summary: The study found that the prevalence of burnout syndrome, depression, anxiety, and somatic symptoms decreased after medical students transitioned from traditional learning to online learning. However, colleague-related burnout increased during the online learning period, indicating a negative impact on students' communication and interpersonal relationships. Students who expressed dissatisfaction with academic performance during online learning were more likely to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety.
