Assessment of Norwegian physicians' knowledge, experience and attitudes towards medical cannabis

John Laurence Arnfinsen et al.

Summary: Norwegian physicians generally agree that medical cannabis is a legitimate treatment option, especially for cancer and chemotherapy-induced side effects, and has the potential to reduce unnecessary opioid use in patients with chronic pain. Significant differences were found between subgroups in terms of years of practice, specialty, age, country of medical diploma, and practice type. Acceptance towards medical cannabis being introduced by prescription in Norway is observed in this study.
