Comparison of culture-negative and culture-positive sepsis or septic shock: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis found that culture positivity or negativity is not associated with mortality in patients with sepsis or septic shock. Additionally, culture-positive patients had longer hospital stays and mechanical ventilation durations compared to culture-negative patients. Further large-scale studies are needed to confirm these findings.
