Comparative regulomics supports pervasive selection on gene dosage following whole genome duplication

Gareth B. Gillard et al.

Summary: The study found that whole genome duplication has led to pervasive expression evolution, mainly evolving Ohnolog copies towards lower expression levels. The evolution of Ohnolog expression levels is mostly asymmetric, with loss of expression in one copy possibly associated with transposable element insertions in promoters.
