Metal-silicate mixing by large Earth-forming impacts

Summary: Experimental results demonstrate that the degree of mixing between impactors of different diameters and densities during Earth formation is crucial to the mass transfer between metal and silicates. These new findings suggest that the mixing induced by impacts is much larger than previously estimated.
