An assessment of the effect of Lemna minor, Cyanobacteria Oscillatoria Sp and aeration on the elimination of cadmium, nickel and zinc from urban and industrial wastewater

Summary: This study aims to investigate the purification effect of common duckweed (Lemna minor) and filamentous Cyanobacteria Oscillatoria Sp on urban wastewater and industrial wastewater. The results indicate that Cyanobacteria Oscillatoria Sp has a good effect on reducing nickel in industrial wastewater, while Lemna minor performs better in reducing zinc in industrial wastewater. The cadmium levels in both types of wastewaters are not severe enough to cause irrigation problems.
