Calculation of donor numbers: Computational estimates for the Lewis basicity of solvents

Ramon Alain Miranda-Quintana et al.

Summary: Donor numbers are crucial for classifying Lewis basicity of solvents. A theoretical framework has been proposed for their calculation, which shows high agreement with experimental values and highlights the importance of local molecular interactions. Simplified chemical reactions were used to examine different levels of approximations, with even the simplest approaches providing reasonable results.

High energy Na-Ion capacitor employing graphitic carbon fibers from waste rubber with diglyme-based electrolyte

Madhusoodhanan Lathika Divya et al.

Summary: The co-intercalation process using glyme-based solvents has provided new prospects for reversible Na-intercalation into graphitic materials. The high-energy Na-ion capacitor using graphitic carbon nanofibers obtained from waste rubber depolymerization exhibited impressive kinetic properties compared to commercial graphite powder. The unique synthesis procedure and less crystalline nature of the GCNF lead to lowered intercalation potential and extended Na-ion storage capacity, showcasing the importance of this concept.
