Can unconscious intentions be more effective than conscious intentions? Test of the role of metacognition in hypnotic response

B. Palfi et al.

Summary: The study examined whether responses to hypnotic suggestions have executive intentions and compared the performance of post-hypnotic suggestion and volitional request in reducing the Stroop interference effect. Results showed that both conditions could reduce interference, but participants felt more control and imagination in the volitional request condition, supporting the claim that responding hypnotically does not grant greater first order abilities than non-hypnotically.

The rubber hand illusion in children: What are we measuring?

Lysha Lee et al.

Summary: The rubber hand illusion is a widely studied bodily illusion that has been used to investigate the plasticity of body representations in the brain. Recently, there has been an expansion in applying this illusion to children populations to better understand body representation development. To prevent unintended methodological variability from hindering consistency in pediatric literature, it is important to review and summarize available pediatric RHI studies.
