Correlation between serum anti-TSH receptor autoantibodies (TRAbs) and the clinical feature of Graves' orbitopathy

F. Nicoli et al.

Summary: The study found a direct correlation between serum TRAb levels and the clinical activity score (CAS) in untreated Graves' orbitopathy (GO) patients. However, there were no relationships between TRAbs and other eye features such as exophthalmometry, eyelid aperture, degree of diplopia, visual acuity, and NOSPECS score.

Precision Medicine in Graves' Disease: CD40 Gene Variants Predict Clinical Response to an Anti-CD40 Monoclonal Antibody

Larissa C. Faustino et al.

Summary: The study investigated the association between specific CD40 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and haplotypes and clinical response of Graves' disease patients to Iscalimab. Results showed that haplotypes B and C, associated with higher CD40 mRNA levels, were linked to clinical response to Iscalimab, while haplotype A, associated with decreased CD40 mRNA levels, showed no response. These findings suggest that genetic polymorphisms in the CD40 gene drive its expression levels and response to CD40-targeted therapies, paving the way for precision medicine in the treatment of Graves' disease.
