C-H Methylation of Iminoamido Heterocycles with Sulfur Ylides**

Summary: This method describes the unprecedented C(sp(2))-H methylation of iminoamido heterocycles as nucleoside base analogues, using trimethylsulfoxonium salt as a methylating agent under aqueous conditions. It achieves a wide substrate scope and excellent level of functional-group tolerance, and can be readily applied to site-selective methylation of azauracil nucleosides, highlighting its synthetic potential.

4CzIPN-tBu-Catalyzed Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer for Photosynthesis of Phosphorylated N-Heteroaromatics

Summary: 4,5,6-Tetrakis (3,6-di-tert-butyl-9H-carbazol-9-yl)-isophthalonitrile (4CzIPN-Bu-t) was developed as a photocatalyst for the phosphorus-radical-initiated cascade cyclization reaction of isocyanides. By using 4CzIPN-Bu-t as catalyst, a visible light-induced proton-coupled electron transfer strategy was developed for the generation of phosphorus-centered radicals, leading to the successful construction of phosphorylated phenanthridines, quinolines, and benzothiazoles.

Summary: This study presents a novel method for late-stage heteroarylation of aryl sulfonium salts using alpha-amino alkyl radicals, which differs mechanistically from previously reported halogen-atom transfer (XAT). The new activation mode of aryl sulfonium salts can be carried out in the absence of light and photoredox catalysts, and is applicable to a wide range of heterocycles, showing potential for useful cross-coupling transformations.

Sulfonylation of Aryl Halides by Visible Light/Copper Catalysis

Visible-Light-Induced C-H Bond Aminoalkylation of Heterocycles by the Decarboxylation Coupling of Amino Acids

Summary: This study presents an efficient visible-light-induced decarboxylative coupling reaction of N-protecting alpha-amino acids with heterocycles for the generation of aminoalkylated heterocycles. A series of aminoalkylated heterocycles were obtained in moderate to good yields, utilizing an inexpensive organic photocatalyst under transition-metal-free conditions.

The arylation of quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones was chemoselective and regioselective, allowing for good access to various 3-arylquinoxalin-2(1H)-ones.
