Synthesis, structural, magnetic and NO2 gas sensing property of CuO nanoparticles

D. M. Chethana et al.

Summary: CuO nanoparticles are synthesized through the oxidation of Cu/Cu2O obtained by the chemical reduction of Cu2+ ions. The band gap energy of CuO is blue shifted and exhibits weak ferromagnetic behavior at lower temperature. Additionally, CuO shows good sensitivity to NO2 gas in the temperature range of 200-300 degrees Celsius.

Enhanced NO2 gas-sensing performance of 2D Ti3C2/TiO2 nanocomposites by in-situ formation of Schottky barrier

Siwei Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, Ti3C2/TiO2 nanocomposites were synthesized through in-situ growth of TiO2 on the surface of multilayer Ti3C2 MXene, showing improved response to NO2 gas and excellent gas-sensing performance. The formation of a Schottky barrier at the Ti3C2/TiO2 interface contributed to the outstanding response and selectivity of the composites. This work provides a simple method to enhance the gas-sensing performance of MXene materials in practical applications.

Importance of N-P-N Junction in H2S Sensing Process of SnO2-CuO Heterostructures: A Theoretical Macroscopic Approach

Zhoubin Boroun et al.

Summary: Metal-oxide gas sensors, particularly the SnO2-CuO system, are widely used for detecting H2S gas. While the previous 2D thin bilayer model explained some aspects of the sensor's performance, experimental research showed that multicomponent heterostructures have higher response. By introducing an n-p-n junction in a 3D model, the sensitivity of the sensor element towards H2S gas significantly improved, indicating the potential for optimized sensor fabrication.
