Genomewide Expression Profiling Identifies a Novel miRNA-based Signature for the Detection of Peritoneal Metastasis in Patients With Gastric Cancer

Tadanobu Shimura et al.

Summary: This study identified five miRNAs that can potentially identify peritoneal metastasis in gastric cancer patients, with three of them showing significant overexpression in primary tumors from patients with peritoneal metastasis. These miRNAs not only distinguished patients with and without peritoneal metastasis, but also associated with poor prognosis. The combination of miRNA signature with Borrmann's type score provided superior diagnostic value in all three cohorts.

Summary: This study analyzed the prognostic AS profile of gastric cancer, identifying OS-GCAS events and establishing a prognostic risk formula. Patients in the low-risk group had better overall survival and lower immune and stromal scores. An AS-clinical integrated prognostic model with considerable AUC values was generated.

Summary: Cell line drug screening datasets can be used for various drug discovery applications, including correcting drug sensitivity levels, predicting clinical drug response, and associating predictions with clinical features for drug biomarker discovery. These methodologies have been unified and updated into the OncoPredict R package to facilitate tool development and adoption, applicable for drug and biomarker discovery in various in vitro and in vivo contexts.

DNA Damage Repair Status Predicts Opposite Clinical Prognosis Immunotherapy and Non-Immunotherapy in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Yunfei Chen et al.

Summary: This study divided HCC patients into DDR1 and DDR2 groups, showing that DDR2 patients had significantly prolonged OS when receiving ICIs, while DDR1 patients had better OS after traditional treatments. DDR status may serve as a potential biomarker to predict opposite clinical prognosis in immunotherapy and non-immunotherapy in HCC.

Activation of the DDR Pathway Leads to the Down-Regulation of the TGFβ Pathway and a Better Response to ICIs in Patients With Metastatic Urothelial Carcinoma

Chaozheng Zhou et al.

Summary: This study found that the activation level of the DDR pathway is associated with immunotherapy efficacy, tumor mutation burden, immune cell patterns, and immune-related gene expression levels in mUC patients. A higher activation level of the DDR pathway is correlated with better overall survival time.

Comprehensive Characterization of RNA Processing Factors in Gastric Cancer Identifies a Prognostic Signature for Predicting Clinical Outcomes and Therapeutic Responses

Shenghan Lou et al.

Summary: This study identified the important role of RNA processing factors in gastric cancer, analyzed genetic variants, pathway activation, immune heterogeneity, drug response, and splicing features associated with the risk signature using bioinformatics methods. A 10-gene RNA processing-related prognostic signature was developed and validated, along with a composite prognostic nomogram integrating clinical variables. The low-risk subgroup showed potential benefits from immunotherapy, indicating the clinical and molecular significance of the RNA processing-related signature in patient management and treatment targeting.
