Measurement of leukocyte trafficking kinetics in macaques by serial intravascular staining

E. Lake Potters et al.

Summary: Leukocyte trafficking plays a crucial role in homeostasis and immune responses, with dysregulation often observed in disease. The SIVS method developed for measuring trafficking kinetics in nonhuman primates provides valuable insights into the dynamics of immune responses and may aid in understanding disease pathogenesis.

Spatiotemporal single-cell profiling reveals that invasive and tissue-resident memory donor CD8+ T cells drive gastrointestinal acute graft-versus-host disease

Victor Tkachev et al.

Summary: The study reveals the processes by which donor CD8(+) T cells infiltrate tissues and establish pathogenic tissue residency in acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD). By combining intravascular staining with single-cell RNA sequencing, researchers created a map of transcriptional programs controlling donor T cell infiltration into the primary aGVHD target organ, the gastrointestinal tract. The gene expression signature associated with tissue invasion was able to distinguish CD8(+) T cell transcriptome in patients with GI aGVHD from GVHD-free patients.

Expansions of adaptive-like NK cells with a tissue-resident phenotype in human lung and blood

Demi Brownlie et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown the existence of tissue-resident adaptive-like NK cells in the human lung and blood, which differ from traditional NK cells and exhibit enhanced cytotoxicity towards tumor cells. These cells may represent a novel strategy for targeted therapies against solid tumors.
